Yes. The UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management prefers the GMAT admission test. However, we gladly accept the GRE test as well.
While the GMAT or GRE are required for admission, all MBA candidates are automatically considered for a test waiver if all required application components have been submitted. Most applicants receive an automatic test waiver.
GMAT/GRE test score waivers are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and granted for applicants who:
- Have demonstrated satisfactory performance in undergraduate or graduate coursework that can be viewed as an indication of an ability to perform well in a graduate degree program in which they have applied.
- Have significant professional work experience in the discipline of the desired academic program.
A GMAT/GRE test score waiver does not guarantee admission to the program.
GMAT/GRE test score waivers will also be granted for the following applicants who:
- Are recent UT Dallas graduates eligible for Quick Admit.
- Have a doctoral degree, such as a PhD, MD, or Juris Doctor.
- Obtained their undergraduate or graduate degree from UT Dallas (regardless of their major) and achieved a GPA at or above a 3.300. (GPA only includes UTD grades.)
- Obtained their undergraduate or graduate degree from a university with an AACSB-accredited business school (regardless of their degree’s area of focus) and achieved a GPA at or above a 3.300.
- Obtained a graduate academic certificate from JSOM, in a related field, and achieved a GPA at or above 3.500.
- Graduated Summa or Magna Cum Laude from a U.S.-based ABET-accredited school.
- Graduated in the top 20 percent of their graduating class from an EQUIS school (Official verification required).
GMAT/GRE score submission required if:
- Admission Committee requests a test score to complete the review of your application for an admission decision.
- Applicant is interested in a JSOM Graduate Scholarship (official score required for the purpose of scholarship consideration).
When submitting a GMAT or GRE, the score must be no more than five years old by date of application. Note: The UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management prefers the GMAT admission test; however, the GRE test is accepted as well.
To indicate where the official GMAT score should be sent, please follow the list of GMAT Program Codes or, if submitting the GRE, use our GRE School Code: R6897 (No department code is needed).
